Reflex foam

Reflex foam and memory foam are often thought of as the same thing. Reflex foam is very flexible and regains its original shape quickly. Although both memory and reflex foam are high density mattresses they are constructed in a different way. Reflex foam uses larger bubbles that act similar to a water ballon. When pressure is applied the air does not escape, instead is displaced sideways and once pressure is relieved, the bubbles spring back into shape and the mattress regains its shape.

As a result of this firm but comfortable mattress the reflex foam is is often first choice for those who want an orthopaedic mattress. The two types of mattress are not mutually exclusive. Reflex foam is also often used as a supportive layer in many memory foam mattresses. The main difference you’ll find with reflex foam mattresses, is that you don’t experience the sinking motion you get with memory foam.

Benefits of reflex foam

  • firm orthopaedic feel
  • cheaper than memory foam
  • helps to keep spine aligned
  • no need to turn
  • dust mite resistant

Our reflex foam mattresses come in sizes suitable for cots through to superking.  Many have hypoallergenic properties to fight against bacteria and odours too.
